Sprout

Using Sprout

Sending money

What happens between pressing Send and the money landing in their wallet.

When you confirm a send, two things happen at once: your recipient is paid in full, and your plan begins. Here is everything in between.

What happens when you confirm

  1. 1

    Your quote is locked

The amount, the 5% fee and every payment on your schedule are fixed. Nothing about them can change later.

  2. 2

    Sprout pays your recipient

Sprout sends the full amount from its own liquidity to the address you entered, in one USDC transfer on Solana. It doesn’t come out of your wallet.

  3. 3

    Your plan starts

You now owe Sprout the schedule you picked. The first payment is due one period later: the next day on a 1-day plan, a week on weekly terms, 30 days on monthly terms.

Where the money comes from

Sprout fronts the money. That’s the point: your recipient gets $100.00 today even if you’d rather pay $10.50 a month for 10 months. You don’t need the amount in your wallet when you send. The network fee for the transfer is shown on its own line before you confirm.

Sending USDC

Plans are priced in US dollars, and USDC tracks the dollar, so the amount you type is the number of tokens they get: $100.00 is 100 USDC.

How long it takes

Transfers on Solana usually confirm within seconds. Your receipt updates the moment the transfer is confirmed onchain, and it links to a block explorer so you can check it yourself.

Transfers are final

If you’re paying a new address, send $10 first and ask them to confirm it arrived.

Changing your mind

Until you confirm, you can back out at any step and nothing happens. After you confirm, the transfer is done and the plan can’t be cancelled. You can always pay it off early, with no penalty.
