Using Sprout

Autopay

How autopay collects each payment on time, and how to turn it off.

Autopay pays each installment on its due date, so you never have to remember. You approve Sprout’s program as a delegate on your USDC token account, capped at exactly what your plan still owes, and you can revoke it at any time.

How it works

When you turn autopay on, your wallet asks you to approve a delegate. That lets Sprout’s program collect up to a set amount of USDC from your USDC token account, and nothing else. Sprout sets the cap to exactly what your schedule still adds up to. It is never unlimited.

Spending cap request

Approve Sprout’s program as a delegate on your USDC token account, up to this amount, for your plan.

Collected
$10.50 a month, on due dates
A $100.00 plan over 10 months. The cap is the plan total, $105.00. If a prompt ever asks for "unlimited", reject it.
  • On each due date, Sprout’s program collects that one payment. Never early, never more.
  • Each collection lowers the remaining cap by the same amount. When the plan is paid off, the cap is spent.
  • The approval covers one token, USDC. Sprout can’t touch your SOL or any other token or balance in your wallet.

Turning autopay on

  1. 1

    Choose autopay

It’s on by default when you send. For an existing plan, open it and choose Turn on autopay.

  2. 2

    Check the request

Your wallet shows the site, the token and the cap. The site should be www.sproutpay.cc, the token USDC, and the cap should match what you still owe.

  3. 3

    Approve

Approving is a transaction, so it costs a small network fee in SOL. You only do it once per plan.

Keep the next payment in your wallet

Autopay can only collect what’s there. Before each due date, keep at least that payment in USDC in the wallet you sent with. If a collection fails, you have a 3-day grace period to make it up; see Missed payments.

Turning autopay off

Revoke the approval whenever you like, from the plan in Sprout or from your wallet. It takes effect as soon as the transaction confirms. Your schedule doesn’t change; you’ll just pay each one yourself.
